Timberon Golf Course

The Timberon Golf Course, which looks like a dead field most of the year, always comes back during the monsoon season.  Lots of rain followed by sunny days really kick it up, and she looks beautiful.  Maybe not to a golf pro, but to me she does.

In the evenings, the deer and elk come to graze.  The ravens can tear it up, but it comes right back.  It’s mowed and maintained by the Timberon water district employees, and the pro shop is run by volunteers.

The golf course has its controversies, some on the mountain want to let it go, it is too hard to maintain and it is not a money maker for the district.  Others (me) feel that, even though it is a little rough, it is an asset to Timberon.  It is not only used for golfing, many people drive around or walk the cart paths, visit the ponds, and just enjoy the long greens.
