After a brief adjustment to the agenda, the board approved minutes from two previous May meetings and received an update on employee health insurance options. No vote was taken, but the discussion provided insight into the potential cost of offering spousal and family coverage.
The board recessed briefly so the Interim Budget Resolution could be finalized. Upon reconvening, the board adopted Resolution No. 2024-2025-002, approving the interim budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Other approvals included:

Official recognition of the District’s workforce: 11 full-time employees and 4 seasonal staff.
-
Approval of the updated inventory for the Maintenance facility, with praise for employee Leo’s work on the report.
-
Purchase of new payroll software from uAttend, which will help move payroll processing in-house and cut costs.
Two items were tabled for further discussion at the June 10 meeting:
-
The District’s ICIP (Infrastructure Capital Improvement Plan) list
-
Proposed updates to the Lodge Lease Agreement, which include options for special events and pool rentals
There were no public comments, but board members offered closing remarks. Chairman Cruey noted improvements in infrastructure and a major reduction in water loss, from 80% down to 12%. Vice Chair Hardesty reminded community members that five board seats will be open in the upcoming election. Applications must be submitted to the Otero County Clerk by August 26, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
The meeting adjourned at 5:00 PM.
